Membrane Fabrics for Outdoor Workwear

Laminated membrane fabrics that block wind and rain while letting moisture vapour escape - for outdoor jackets, parkas and rainwear used in year-round work.

A membrane works by having pores too small for a raindrop but large enough for water vapour, so rain stays out while sweat escapes. This range holds 8 published laminated articles from 140 to 340 g/m², all OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified, most also certified to EN 343 for protection against rain and several to EN 342 for cold environments, with high-visibility versions to EN ISO 20471. Used for outdoor jackets, parkas and rainwear where crews work full shifts in wet weather — road maintenance, construction, rail and logistics.

Frequently asked questions

How does a membrane keep rain out but let sweat escape?

Its pores are too small for a liquid raindrop to pass but large enough for water vapour, so perspiration escapes while rain stays outside.

Which certifications do they carry?

All 8 published articles are OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified; most also carry EN 343 for rain protection and several EN 342 for cold environments.

Do membrane garments need sealed seams?

Yes. Stitching perforates the membrane, so seams must be closed with heat-applied seam sealing tape or the garment leaks at every needle hole.

What weights are available?

140 to 340 g/m², covering lightweight packable rainwear through to insulated winter shells.
